Less Doing and More Being with Naturopathic Doctor Dominika Zarzeczny

Naturopathic Healing

Dominika Zarzeczny is a naturopathic doctor who has dedicated the last seven years of her practice to understanding how the state of our nervous system influences health outcomes. She studied somatic relational counseling with the late Dr. Michael Sieck, founder of the Three Fold Way, and honed her coaching skills with Dr. Marti Glenn and Ken Bruer of Ryzio.

Dominika applies the principles of neuroscience, attachment theory, mindfulness, and polyvagal theory to her inquiry process and counseling with patients. Her “bottom-up” or bio-psychosocial approach to working with patients recognize the roles that biology, psychology, and socio-environmental factors play in the development of mental health and chronic diseases.

In our conversation, Dominika provides many golden nuggets as we discuss her work, the difference between languishing and burnout, and the importance of giving yourself permission to be with yourself in order to heal.

In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. The importance of having an integrated approach to health and healing.
2. Why is trauma-informed training so important?
3. The importance of standardization in the coaching industry.

Transforming Grief Into an Opportunity for Self-Advancement with Shelley Pomerantz

Overcoming Grief

Through her own journey of healing, Shelley Pomerantz uncovers the irony that unconditional love is the key to overcoming the grief, shame, and inconsolable heartache from her chaotic and complex childhood.

Shelley Pomerantz is a registered psychotherapist and national speaker with over 40 years of experience in family, marital and individual therapy. She is the co-founder of Young Lawrence Center counseling and consulting, and author of the book “What Your Mother Never Told You About Love, Sex and Power”.

Shelley Pomerantz grew up in a complex and chaotic family with undiagnosed addiction and mental illness. As a child, she experienced her mother’s dark thunderclouds and emotional outbursts, leading her to seek understanding about the pain and fear she felt. Through reading and her own intuition, she found her way to McGill and eventually to Toronto, where with her partner Michael, they explored family health. When their daughter Rachel had inconsolable moments, they realized the inconsolable grief state started young and was relational. It was then that Shelley realized the walls she had put up to protect herself and the family shame she had felt were preventing her from true emotional connection.

In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. How can we understand and heal our own “inconsolable” grief states that can arise in relationships?
2. What is the impact of “toxic shame” and “toxic perfectionism” on relationships?
3. How do we recognize and work through the “emotional narratives” that arise in our primary love relationships?

My “Why” – Achieving True Happiness Through Self-Discovery and Healing

I want to delve into the significance of overcoming challenges in life and how they play a crucial role in shaping our character. There is a level of importance in engaging our emotional brain when making positive changes and the need to embrace the lessons learned from difficulties. I’ll share my personal story of discovery and my passion for helping others on their journey to wholeness and fulfillment.

I believe that true happiness and satisfaction in life are achieved through small, consistent habits and not just a single, drastic change. My children were the driving force behind my journey of self-discovery and healing and my desire to pass on these lessons to others. I have created a comprehensive program to aid others in their quest for personal growth and fulfillment.

Rachel, and I have to be the living embodiment of the work to be able to work and teach this work. I’m excited to introduce our new program Total Recovery Practioner blending my clinical expertise with Rachel’s NLP Certification and Training. This work can benefit everyone.

“You have the responsibility to invoke your healer.”

What you will learn from this episode:

  1. How can we take agency for self-healing and leave our old stories behind?
  2. How can we recognize and break free of defense mechanisms that are getting in the way of our lives?
  3. How can we make changes that are sustainable and not just get momentum with habitual changes?
  4. How our struggles and adversity help us become the people we’re meant to be.
  5. What is one thing you need to stop doing?
  6. What does it mean to “feel right” when you’re in recovery?
